Our US Marjoribanks clan secretary Carol Leake, sells sashes, scarves, ties and other accessories in the Marjoribanks tartan. These are made from a light weight fabric which is different from the heavier fabric normally used for a kilt.

The Marjoribanks tartan kilts
If you want to order a kilt with the Marjoribanks tartan, as of 2019, we don’t know of any retailer who keeps either Marjoribanks kilts or the Marjoribanks tartan fabric in stock. However a weaver should be able to weave the Marjoribanks tartan based on the official description of the tartan at the Scottish Register of Tartans and then you can get a kilt made up separately. A weaver normally requires a minimum order of 11 metres/12 yards of tartan – equivalent to two or three kilts. It is cheaper to buy more than the minimum tartan amount of tartan so, usually, people combine as many orders as possible. We suggest seeing if other people are interested in joining you using the Marjoribanks and Marchbanks pages on Facebook or the Marjoribanks Mailing list group. A weaver also requires permission from Andrew Marjoribanks of Greenock, the chief of the Marjoribanks Clan (e-mail this email link).
For example, in 2017, one of our Scottish clan members managed to find five other people that were interested and ordered 25 metres of the heavier (16 oz.) weight tartan which was enough material to make into six kilts at a cost of about £150 ($200) per kilt.. He ordered the tartan fabric from Marton Mills Co. Ltd., Pool Mills, Pool-In-Wharfedale, Otley, West Yorkshire, LS21 1TA, UK (tel. 0113-284 3364, fax 0113-284 3044; email: enquiries@martonmills.co.uk). A 50% advance payment is required. The balance and shipping costs are paid at time of delivery. Delivery time is eight to ten weeks. The tartan fabric has a double width and needs to be cut down the middle. A kilt maker should be able to do this.
There are several companies that will make a kilt (for example, the Celtic Craft Centre, Paisley Close 101 High St, EH1 1SP Edinburgh, Scotland, UK ; tel: 0131 556 3228; Facebook web page: www.facebook.com/celticcraftcentrekiltmaker/) for about £250 ($350).
A Marjoribanks kilt might therefore cost about £400 ($550) in total at 2017 prices.

Some stores also sell sporrans with the Marjoribanks crest on it.
